A $100 security deposit and a $50 processing fee are due when selecting rooms. The security deposit is repaid if (1) Cancellation before the expiry of the deadline indicated on the agreement or (2) at the end of the contract, if no debt to the university is due. Wyview Park is only available to the 19-year-old and older community, which is made up of returning residents and 19-year-old students before January 1 of the previous academic year. The apartments have a kitchen and dining room, a living room, two or three bedrooms and a bathroom. The two-bedroom apartments have one bedroom and one shared bedroom. The three-bedroom apartments have two bedrooms and a common bedroom. Students should be prepared to live according to the terms of the agreement, once they have become familiar with their terms and have presented them; avoid possible misunderstandings or financial losses. Agreements are made for the school year. Opposing guests who reside in the residence of single parents living in VAT apartments, in dense and bedroom areas, are not allowed to spend the night during the visit.
You must leave TVA by curfew, noon, Saturday to Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday night. Firearms, knives, ammunition, explosives or devices that could cause serious injury in their intended use are prohibited in campus buildings, on campus and in authorized accommodation on and off campus. (Exception: police personnel duly authorized. Any other waiver must be approved in writing by the campus police director.) Licensed landlords and housing unit administrators are required to provide student tenants with a safe and non-threatening residential environment. Owners or managers may only assume responsibility for the storage of weapons, firearms or ammunition on the site if these items are kept incommunicado outside of student accommodation. All student guests must meet residential and residential standards on campus and university licensed housing facilities. Students are expected to help their hosts and other residents understand and meet their housing standards and code of honour duties.
Authorization forms must be submitted for all guest applications and are available from housing offices. BYU Hawaii students who do not maintain residential standards are subject to disciplinary proceedings by the university. Violations of these standards can be reported to the volunteer or residential life department concerned. Visitors of the other sex are allowed in living rooms and kitchens, but not in the bedroom or bathroom in dwelling units off campus. Visiting hours can start at 9 a.m. Extend until midnight. Friday night visiting hours can be extended until 2 a.m. Owners can set a shorter visit period if residents are properly informed. This directive applies to all housing units occupied by individual students. The standard of living at BYU-Hawaii is based on the belief that not all learning takes place in the classroom. Many things can be learned in our places of worship, where we work, play and live.
